HISTORIC SPA CAPITAL STAGES A PAMPERING FEAST Saturday January 28, 2012

BERKELEY SPRINGS, WV -- Berkeley Springs, a centuries-old health resort and the present-day Spa Capital of West Virginia, stages a daylong sampling of bodywork and health-enhancing treatments as well as related products at the 22nd annual Spa Feast on Saturday, January 28 from 10am to 4pm at the Ice House in Berkeley Springs.

In between sampling the bodyworkers, Spa Feast goers can also sit in on a series of almost a dozen lectures as well as participate in movement activities. Lecture topics range from holistic health for animals and nutrition tips to weight and pain management techniques.

The daylong fair showcases an array of spa-based and health-giving treatments ranging from facials and massage to Reiki and reflexology. A variety of health-related assessment techniques are also available. Information booths provide samples of homeopathic remedies, locally made herbal soaps and healthy treats that taste good. Shop owners and professional staff are on hand to talk about special diets and holistic treatment for pets. There are demonstrations as well as diagnostic tests from War Memorial Hospital. Door prizes, including massages and other treatments, and health and beauty products are given away throughout the day.

Dr. Jane Doyle, DVM continues the education experience at the Ice House on Sunday with a two-hour seminar on holistic pet care starting at 1:30pm.

Panorama at the Peak brings their Green Tomato Festival to the Ice House with green tomato chocolate cupcakes and George the Green Tomato character. Joining Panorama for "making healthy eating tasty" is Tari's Cafe. Both fine dining restaurants have specials all weekendlong and are handing-out discount coupons at Saturday's fair for the healthy eating items.

Expanding beyond activities at the Ice House, health-conscious folks find specials at local spas and a weekend of special spa-related activities including spa treatment packages, and sale prices on spa and health items at several downtown shops.
