Senator Robert Byrd was a favorite musician in the early years of the Apple
Butter Festival. He performed in 1975, 76 and 80 backed up by the Bluegrass
Neighbors.
 


A quartet of festival favorites return
for two days of music and theater from the park bandstand.
From 11:30am to 12:15pm and 12:45pm to 1:30pm on Saturday,
Hillbilly Huxters one of the region's liveliest rockabilly
bands.
At 2pm performing old timey music is the sound of the Critton
Hollow String Band. They first performed at the festival in 1976.
On Sunday, Possum Holler, takes the bandstand
from 1pm to 2pm and then again from 2:45pm to 4pm. .
NIGHT TIME FUN
The STAR Theater features a family film in traditional neighborhood movie house.
A half-dozen fine restaurants offer tasty fare all to the chorus of tree frogs
chirping in the woods surrounding town.
