A quartet of festival favorites return for two days of music and theater from the park bandstand.
From 11:30am to 12:15pm and 12:45pm to 1:30pm on Saturday, the
Professors--a hot Dixieland band from nearby Shenandoah University--keep
toes tapping and fingers snapping. They first appeared in 1979
as the Shenandoah Dixieland Jazz Band.
At 2pm performing old timey music is the sound of the Critton
Hollow String Band. They first performed at the festival in 1976.
On Sunday, Red Moon, one of the region's liveliest bluegrass
bands, take the bandstand from 1pm to 2pm and then again from
2:45pm to 4pm. An evolution of longtime festival favorite, New
Liberty, Red Moon first appeared in 2001.
NIGHT TIME FUN
The STAR Theater features a family film in traditional neighborhood movie house.
A half-dozen fine restaurants offer tasty fare all to the chorus of tree frogs
chirping in the woods surrounding town.
