Apple Butter Memories
The 36th Apple Butter Festival in the park and
streets of Berkeley Springs had perfect weather for two days, record
crowds and the happiest feeling that anyone could imagine. Folks shopped,
ate, participated in the games, listened to music, stirred apple butter
and hung out in the park.
Make your plans to come for the 37th on Saturday & Sunday,
October 9 & 10, 2010.

Apple Butter Contest Winners
The annual hog
calling contest packs the park on Sunday.
Pleasant View Community Center makes kettles
of apple butter in the square each year. Everyone who attends
the festival is invited to take a stir.
The local garden club gets the
square all decked out for fall in celebration of the festival

Who knew there was so much hog
calling talent at the festival. Here are the happy winners.

Music is featured
at the Bandstand both days. Critton Hollow String Band is one
of the favorites folks look forward to each year. Bands are provided
by the sponsors
recognized on the gazebo.
The food lot was a popular stop offering everything from
gourmet soups in sourdough bread bowls to corn dogs.
This young gal will always remember her marriage proposal
made just before the hog calling contest.
Even the Loyal Order of the Moose take part
in the event. Mr Dawson said they won't miss!
There
were even record
numbers lined up for the egg toss.
